I commend the Stockton Unified School District Police Officer Association for creating this excellent website. It is a reflection of the pride and professionalism of our officers.

The Stockton Unified School District serves over 37,000 students and has over 4,500 staff on nearly 60 locations spread over 55 square miles. Raising the quality of education and creating an atmosphere for success are top priorities of Stockton Unified. We can all take pride in having test scores that rose faster than other school districts in our area.

Every day we see our future leaders in our classrooms. There is a high sense of mission throughout our District to provide the best possible educational opportunities. The Stockton Unified School District Police play a vital role by helping to create and maintain peaceful and orderly school sites.

The Stockton Unified School District Police Department was established in 1985. We are a fully accredited police agency operating 24/7, employing full time officers, dispatchers and other support personnel. The school district has demonstrated support for our mission by authorizing additional staff positions this year.

Our primary focus is on safety on and near schools, yet our officers contribute much more. Officers develop positive relationships with the children, often diffusing conflicts before serious conflict can erupt. Our officers also work to develop positive relationships with teachers, staff and parents.

In addition, our officers often partner with the City of Stockton Police Department and San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office to increase public safety in areas such as gang awareness and outreach, DUI enforcement, gang sweeps, and more.

All of our efforts are designed with one goal in mind: to provide a safe environment for students so they can concentrate on learning and achieving academic success.
